HOW TO BE A HULA SPIN MASTER

ACTIVITY FOR WEEK 3
SCIENCE EXPERIMENT
TRAVELLING COLOURS EXPERIMENT
If you are looking for simple science to do with the children and something that will really WOW them, this is definitely one to try.
You only need a few simple supplies that you probably already have around the house.
MATERIAL REQUIRED :-
* DISPOSABLE CUPS 5-6
* FOOD COLOURING OR INKS :-RED , YELLOW, BLUE
* THICK ABSORBENT KITCHEN TISSUE PAPER
LEARNING OBJECTIVE :
The water moves up the paper towels through a process called capillary action. The paper towel is made from fibres and the water is able to travel through the gaps in the fibres. The gaps in the paper towel act like capillary tubes and pull the water upward. This is what helps water climb from a plant’s roots to the leaves at the top of the plant or tree.
The water is able to move upward against gravity because of the attractive forces between the water and the fibres in the paper towel.
ACTIVITY FOR WEEK 4
BACKYARD STAR GAZING
TO THE PARENTS :-
Stargazing with your children is a fantastic summer activity. Sitting in the dark admiring the constellations can be a great experience to bond with your children and teach them a little about something bigger than themselves.
Teaching your children about astronomy isn’t just about stargazing. You can teach your children about nature, classical literature, mythology and so much more. Plus, it’s just fun!
Let your Child’s Curiosity Soar High as the Sky
Of course, no stargazing activity would be complete if we didn’t throw in a bit about the moon. Make sure your children know the various moon phases to go with their constellation knowledge.
Watch for shooting stars
Make constellations with rocks and pebbles
HOPE THIS WILL HELP BOND THE PARENT AND THE CHILD BETTER
ACTIVITY FOR WEEK 5
PIZZA MAKING
TO THE PARENT :-
Making the pizza base
Keep it simple and use a ready-made pizza base. This means that the children can simply add toppings.Possible ideas for pizza bases include using pitta breads, naan bread, pizza base or simply a slice of bread . These simple bases are particularly suitable for younger children, or if you have limited access to an oven.
Adding the toppings
Create a pizza toppings station for your children so that they can select their preferred ingredients.
Here are some important things to consider:
- What sauce will the children use? Try tomato puree, sun-dried tomato paste, or ready made pizza sauce. You could even teach them to season with herbs and spices. Or get them to experiment with tomato ketchup
- Do the children have enough toppings to choose from? Use this pizza making activity as an opportunity to reinforce their understanding of the different food groups.
- Are the children involved in preparing the toppings? They could help with grating cheese and cutting vegetables.
Cooking the pizza
Once the pizzas have been decorated, they are ready for the oven.
If pizza making has been a hit, you will certainly want to follow up with some pizza-themed activities .Here are some examples:
Design and Technology: Children could design and make their own pizza box, as well as branding their pizza with a logo and slogan.
SUPER FUN AND INTERESTING
